Internet users read more than non-users. In fact, it appears that internet users like all kinds of media. Tyler Hamilton, in the Toronto Star has described a number of the survey findings, including this chart:

Those wanting more depth can go to the Canadina Internet Project website - http://www.canadianinternetproject.ca/en/intro.htm - and download a pdf of the Executive Summary http://www.canadianinternetproject.ca/en/results.htm - which is very informative.

I have been trying to teach myself how to create a podcast and get it on the web. I downloaded and used Audacity, a free audio editing program, to create an mp3. I talked about Walter Ong's concept of "secondary orality" and the idea of a new, oral rhetoric. Then I decided I had to have an opening 'sound' - a "sting" - and recorded a chord from our piano, to add it to the beginning. I have been having some trouble figuring out the steps between my mp3 and my Blogger blog (http://webtoolsforlearners.blogspot.com/) where I have used Audio-Blogging and phoned in a recording. Then I thought of ELGG's capacity to store files, and link to them from my ELGG blog, et voila - [File does not exist]

Thanks to Dave Tosh who responded so quickly to my request for help. My mp3 was fine initially then, after a day, most of the recording disappeared both in the blog link, and in my files.<br /> <br /> Now my rather academic and amateur mini-lecture is all there - I hope.<br /> <br /> Which means I'll have to start thinking about making another one;->

Keywords: mp3, Thanks
