Can anybody give me any advice on whether or not to install the "Classic Elgg" forum plugin on an Elgg 1.5 installation (plugin can be found here: http://classic.elgg.org/mod/plugins/plugin.php?id=6 ?

Or, perhaps someone can advise me on a more recent replacement (if there is one). Feel free to comment on the general idea even if you aren't sure about this specific plugin. (I notice that Eduspaces Central uses this plugin.)

Thanks,

Jim

Hi there

I found this note from Bonnie. She said not to worry about the debugging message because everything should be still there.

 This is what she said:

Hi all,I've had a few queries about people having problems with seeing folders when the security access is set to the PGDE group. I just double checked one student's files for her, and they are there, even though she can't see them. So the trick is, when you upload your files to the file page, keep the access as public. Once you have everything loaded up, then you can change the access to the PGDE group only. It may look like your folder isn't there any more, but it still is. Don't worry about the debugging message that you get, either. Things still work even if that pops up.Please let me know if you have any other problems or questions!Bonnie

Hi

There doesn't appear to be a button / or link on the front page for new registrations ???

Does this mean eduspaces has 'reached its limit' ?

Thanks, Stuart.

Can anyone help me with this? When I upload files and folders set to public, everything works fine. However when I try to set the access to my class group only, I get this error message:

Array (     [22397] => Array         (             [owner] => 22397         ) ) Error: Turn off debugging to hide this error.
SELECT f.owner FROM friends f JOIN users u ON u.ident = f.friend WHERE u.user_type = ? AND u.ident = ? AND f.owner = ?
Found more than one record in get_record_sql !
And I can't see my files or folders any more. Other class group members can see them however, when they look at my file section.
How do I get rid of the extra folders I've put in there? How do I stop getting the error mesages?
Thanks!

What do you think about a site similar to this where teachers can share instructional ideas for Ohio Standards/Grade Level Indicators?

I am working on a research project to reevaluate the learning environment in primary and secondary schools (with an emphasis on primary) in an effort to develop an innovative classroom design to support a personalized learning environment.

The basic idea would be to structure the classroom to accommodate several learning modalities including but not limited to traditional teacher lectures, 3-5 student learning groups, one on one tutor sessions, and online learning modules. The design of the classroom would need to be dynamic enough to accommodate some or all of these modalities in a particular day but be flexible to adapt to the class’s needs over time.

Does anyone know of any schools or teachers employing an innovative approach to differentiated learning either in terms of a personalized curriculum, the process to align the delivery of content with a student's needs, and/or using a unique classroom layout to accomodate different learning modalities?
