Hello everyone, we just upgraded to the latest version of elgg, 0.67, but when we tried to log in we received a php fatal error:  Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 2949120 bytes) in /home/b/5/4/1506/1506/public_html/lib/db/mysql.php on line 198

Now every page that we try to open we receive this error. We didn't had any problems with the previous version of elgg. We just emailed our hosting provider but sometimes they can take days to reply. Our first thought was to modify the php.ini to increase the memory size but we don't have access to it. Any other suggestion?

Cheers , David

Can anyone reproduce this?

On a clean install of Elgg 0.67

Can't access elgg admin panel. Everything else works fine.

There is html output that doesn't render on the page when you go to _userdetils to edit your account settings.

Basically, it looks like it might be malformed html between the language preferences settings and the visual editor settings.

Symptoms: visual editor settings never get rendered (but view the source of the rendered page ad you can find it).

When you try to change the language settings (e.g. hide language selector), you end up modifying the visual editor prefs for your account.

I've tried on 2 seperate servers, and see the bug on both. Can someone else check for me before I open a bug? Thanks

Tiny MCE has lots od plugins. Can and do these work in ELGG? Had a look at flash embedding and also emoticons etc.

Hi everyone.

I just did a fresh install of elgg-0.672. I only had two problems.

The first problem  had to do with the NO ICON error that a couple of members of the community had. I just follow their advace (uncommenting @apache_setenv('no-gzip', '1'))

Now the only problem I can't seem to fix is the when i upload image files (png, gif, jpg)the thumb icons are not created.

Can anybody share some light on what to do?

I tried playing around with the phpthumb files but no luck so far.

Thanks

Nekro

I think there may be an erro in handling file uploads to communities.

If the upload fails (e.g. you didn't check off a copyright box), you getreturned to your personal file store, not the community one.

Can anyone confirm please before I open a bug.

Thanks

Hey lads & lasses,

I have a new elgg installation at http://elgg.macarius.earlham.edu which I am planning to use with a class of students next semester. The prof is really keen.

I have also created an installation guide spcific to Mac OS X server but which may be of help to others:

Hi,

Have been seeing recently posts with spam or obscene content. See Ben's blog on raft of updates. Is there an inbuilt function "like moodle" to either black out bad words or stop those blogs being entered until they have been moderated? http://elgg.net/bwerdmuller/weblog/133317.html
