Introducing the Elgg installation support community. This is for people having trouble setting up their own installations of Elgg - ask your question here and we'll try and answer. We will eventually develop an installation FAQ based on the content of the community weblog, which will probably live on the community wiki.

Hi,
I am trying to install a copy of the most recent elgg version on a linux machine in a subfolder. The url is
www.athabascau.ca/emd/elgg/
You will see, though, that when you go to this url you will see
500 Internal Server Error
That is not good. I contacted the admin people, and they said the problem came from a problem with the php files. I entered all the right values (I hope) in the includes.php file, so I am not sure where to proceed from here.
BTW, I've viewed the site in both IE and firefox and get the same error message.
