Brief description

Assistant Professor Lesley University School of Education

Who am I?

I am a professor at Lesley University. I design online courses and teach pedagogy in the online masters program for Science Educators.

As an instructional designer, my focus is inquiry-based, collaborative pedagogical approaches to teaching content online. I am moving toward an emergent curriculum paradigm for teaching and learning.

I graduated with my doctorate from Harvard Graduate School of Education in June, 2006. My thesis examined key factors that enhance collaborative dialogue in the Virtual High School. Both the full study, Tapping Online Dialogue for Learning and a paper presented at AERA 2006 that summarizes the study are available in my Files area. Since 1996, I have been supporting instructors seeking to move their teaching practice online at The Concord Consortium, an educational technology research and development organization based in Concord, Massachusetts. During that time, I co-authored a book: Facilitating Online Learning: Effective Strategies for Moderators I teach an online course called Facilitating Online Learning by Moving Out of the Middle .
