At the moment I am awaiting a one week PhD course, which will run from the 14-19th of August. It is called Dexus and you can read more about it here.
Apart from the course being promising and very well visited by international PhD students it is currently in a state of getting-to-know-each-other online.

The system that is being used is socialtext, which is a sort of mixture of blogs and wikis. It is a very interesting system and they have just released an Open Source version of it - or did a while back as far as I know.

Anyway - you can find the Open Source pages here

And you can also find their Enterpirse Wiki tool here

Dont mind the indent below - I am just testing something :D

Just testing out the blockquote function :D

Now I've been participating in the Dexus course for aa few days and I must say I am really impressed with SocialText (and how Paul McIlvenny has created an initial structure within it) - It could really be interesting to test it out a bit more as part of a course...and I must also see if I can talk people into letting all data remain there so it can be used for research purposes :-D It would be an interesting case!

Anyway - in the course we are today starting to do group work - Saturday we have to present something on the topic we have chosen. That's going to be very interesting.
