Hi all,

I decided to move here our most popular blog from Memlink: "Warm and fuzzies." Below are all the postings you have made in Term 1. Let's continue posting to this forum here. As you know, Memlink entries will be deleted in July. By continuing the forum in Elgg, we ensure it stays with us forever, even when the year is over. So here they are:

Reena
Hey Guys!

I really liked Teresa's idea from last year of warm fuzzies. Basically, if you don't know what warm fuzzies are, you write something positive about another group leader and it makes them feel all warm and fuzzy inside! Let's keep this up throughout the year. I believe it's a really great way to encourage each other as a team by recognizing each other as effective leaders should do, according to Chad Hyson! Anyway, I'll stop rambling and you can all start posting!
Reena Re: Warm Fuzzies
Okay, I'll go first....

Regina, you're soo cute! The way you present yourself and everything! It makes you a very approachable person!
Michelle, you are an amazing public speaker. You're excellent and presenting things and debriefing.
Natalie, you are a great problem solver. It was cool the way you jumped into the Senior Peer registration today when that girl didn't have a folder so you just grabbed an extra folder, photocopied her nametag and made her a new one.
Tony, you speak in a very clear and concise manner and it makes it really easy for people to understand you. That's a really good trait to have, especially for this program! :)
Natalie Re: Warm Fuzzies
Ohhh, I like this idea!

Reena, I love your energy! You were one of the first people I met as I strolled into the Group Leader training and you were very outgoing and easy to talk to. You have a positve vibe and you're always smiling, plus, you're excited about this program as well as about this site, which makes it easier for the rest of us to be excited about it. Thank You!

And I have to say, Julia, you amaze me with your wealth of knowledge (you could probably write your own Inernational Handbook), and if you didn't know something, you willingness to make the effort to go seek the answer is very admirable :) Go Julia! ( I hope your poster making worked out)
Julia Re: Warm Fuzzies
This is soooo cool! My first time to this section, and I'm surprised and really happy to see something nice and warm words to me.

Reena, I love your energy too! Thanks for creating this board for all the group leaders. It has been really great working with you guys and I hope to know all of you better throughout the year!

Natalie, you always come out with great ideas! It was nice to share a mailbox with you for reach-out. You came up with the idea of creating our own folder and that makes everything so much easier and more organized. You pioneered this personal folder system for reach-out!

This is to my co-leader, Lizzie. It's been great working with you since first year. Thanks for all the emails and newsletters that you've been sending out. I'm sure we will have a great time with PP this year!

hahaha, guess I'll also drop a few lines to keep this board going...

To dear Julia, it's always fun working with you, and let's keep our group going! You're always full of ideas of places to eat and play and just to hang out, so great work in 'finding' all these places :D I'm sure we'll have a fantastic PP this year too!!!

And Teresa, great job in getting our group potluck started! You're a great planner and I'm sure we'll have lots of fun in our upcoming potluck...looking forward to it!

Oh Mari, thanks for organizing the Longboat teams! Great job there, and we have to win in our category on that day! Thanks for all those emails with concise information...makes reading easier ;)

And to the rest of PP Group leaders, have a great weekend (though it's only Thursday, but TGIF tomorrow!!!) and I'm sure we'll have a great PP year together :D Keep smiling!
Amadeus, you always have a smile on your face every time I see you. A smile is contagious. Thanks for that. I've been having a pretty hectic first two weeks but it's good to smile once in a while :)
Justin, I should have mentioned this earlier, but you're awesome for being dedicated enough to come to the Meet Your Peer event at 9am after going to sleep at 5am that morning. Keep up the spirit!
Teresa Re: Warm Fuzzies
WOW, THIS PAGE IS FUZZERIFIC!!!

HAHAHAA, oye. I don't know what to say. Other than I am so impressed with the group leaders this year. Each of you guys bring something entirely different and much needed in our group. Whether it's the contagious smile, crazy organizational skills, your bountiful vivacity.... it sure makes this group whole.

I just want to say that I am so impressed with you Reena, what a blossoming flower you are. Last year you were an amazing senior peer, and now you've bloomed into an awesome group leader. I'm here to cheer ya on!

To Debbie, once again, I'm amazed at the skills you continue to grow in. Keep on trusting in what you have as talents and gifts, you'll never know what other talents you may have that comes from serving others. You do that so well. ^_^

To Lizzie and Julia, you guys are like the dynamic duo. I always associate you two together heheeh. I can tell your peers will benefit from your personalities and your friendliness. Plus, engineers are cool!

To my group, Jeremy and Tamryn, I'm excited to work with you guys this year. Jeremy, I love your attitude; it seems like nothing phases you. You're a rock and I'm pretty sure you'll come in handy when we're all busting under pressure. ^_^ Tamryn, your youthfulness is one of your great virtues. And I am impressed with your emailing, you definitely are fast. I am glad you're here to be a leader.

Ok, to all the group leaders.... I've been sounding like a fortune cookie for the whole post. So I'll put another fortune cookie phrase: Your quest is what you make of it. So make the peer program great, remember you have group leaders to help you out whenever you are overwhelmed. They are an amazing crutch and resource.... you'll never know what kind of friends you'll be making that will last a lifetime for you here. That's why I love this program. Good people and good times.

Ok.... now, I better go. hahaah have a good nite guys!

Fuzz out,
Reena Re: Warm Fuzzies
Debbie! You're so awesome! Thanks so much for going to the Volleyball meeting for me. Without you, the team would be doomed. You really got me out of a tight spot there.

To the Group Leaders, thanks for advertising volleyball to your groups and helping me recruit some more players.

To a certain male Group Leader on the Vball team, you are SUPER!! Thanks for joining the team. Without you, one of the int'l peers who really wanted to play, would not have been able to play because I would have had to make it an all girls team. :(

Tony and Lydia, awesome job with coming up with the icebreakers at the Flemings-Smiths Potluck. Everyone had so much fun and I haven't heard a negative thing about it yet.

Finally, to my co-leaders, Lim and Gloria, such great co-leaders to work with. Our energy combined is what makes the Flemings group so special. Yay team!

Hi everyone,

We've just finished our Longboat races today, and our team, WomPow, WON THE DIVISION FINALS! YAAAYYYYYYY!!! So, here's to my dearest teammates:

Reena: Thanks for all the energy, and shouting 'Another 10' towards the end of our races! Great work in keeping our stroke timings!

Viet: Wonderful runner who almost risked her life in our race today as she couldn't swim...I'm glad nothing bad happened, and thank you sooo much for being our team's runner and getting wet, and still smile at the end of it all! You're fantastic!

Nav: Thanks for the wonderful tip of eating bananas before our races...it sure helps boost our energy ;) And it's great to have you in our team! You're wonderful :)

Julia: To my fantastic co-leader, thanks for giving it all for our races and driving us to and fro and storing all the food and our belongings in your car! You're totally wonderful and great job today :)

Victoria: Thanks for being such a great partner in the Longboat, and being so full of energy and shouting out the timings everytime! It's great being in the same team as you! You're fantastic :)

Teresa: Another wonderful runner who pushed us off the beach at the start of the race yesterday despite of her injured ankle! Hope it gets better soon, or you better go see a doctor k...Thank you for paddling hard and shouting out the timings and encouraging us at times of high levels of exhaustion in our races! You're great :)

Thi: Our great runner for today who pushed us off the beach at the start, and must have hit her head when she tried climbing back onto the boat! Hope you're ok, and thanks sooo much for doing it! Great job with the paddling and what else can I say, you're fantastic!

Lindsay: Our fantastic steerperson, and we couldn't do it without you! Thanks for keeping the boat in the right direction, so that we don't have to waste energy paddling all over the place! You're sooo full of energy and you're just exceptional!

Mari: A huge thanks for organizing all the teams for the Longboat! Hope you had fun in this event as well, a pity though we didn't have you in our team, paddling with us...but you did a GREAT job in getting so many longboat teams this year! Wonderful :)

Lastly, thanks to all who came down to cheer for us, especially to Regina and Hugo...your mental support was very important and thanks for spending this time with us! :D
Reena Re: Warm Fuzzies
Well then we forgot about Lizzie....

Lizzieeeeeee.... You were awesome with Longboat in giving us tips from your previous experiences and thanks for always shouting the calls to keep us on time ("wom, pow, wom, pow"). You also have such good spirit and energy. You were always smiling.

I'm so proud of everyone on this team for doing such an excellent job and putting in their all. It's no wonder we won. :-D

(Note: Lindsay is a senior Peer from the Carrs so maybe we should post her warm fuzzie in the Carrs group msg board)
Adele Re: Warm Fuzzies

My first warm fuzzies~ This board has so many nice comments, definitely provide a relief from studying the midterms.

Mari: You're just an amazing gal to hang around with. You are full of wisdom and always give your best in everything that you do and you do so much. I have no idea how you fit it all in 24 hours. Keep being the wonderful Mari and let's continue having fun~

Vicky: You're so easy-going! Although we only knew each other since the start of the year, we get along so well. I'm happy that we're leading the McClungs together and with Mari and you by my side, McClungs will have a wonderful year!

Julia: I love your smiles and you know so much about UBC. You push me to find out more about what other opportunities UBC offers beside education-wise. It's too bad we didn't get to race each other during the longboat day but if you're still around UBC next year, join my team or you're welcome to race against us (we'll win!) :)

Lizzie: My fellow anime pal! I didn't know I would find an anime-lover in the peer program. We have so much to talk about and lists to trade which I'll e-mail you when my midterms are over. By the way, the manga for Yami no Matsuei ends at 13 volumes. I always laugh so much when we talk~ Can't wait to continue our anime conversation...there are many new animes out recently.

Hugo: Keep up the great work on organizing the Halloween party. Although you just joined the IPP program, you have already contributed so much! Also, I'm very impressed that I actually got your calls both times 'cause I'm not home half of the times and I seldom open my cell phone :)

Although, I noticed that there are comics which I absolutely love on the page layout. I'm not sure who did this ...is it James? Anyway, hooray!

To all other GL's, I'm super glad to have met each of you and I'm excited to hearing about all of your group events. Of course, we will have a fantastic year~
Amadeus Re: Warm Fuzzies
Haha, I just checked this section of the website. I'd never known how to go here before.

Yeah, I should say that I am really amazed by all the GLs. All of you are so vibrant and full of energy, and it somehow boosts me up, too.

For Teresa, you are awesome. To be honest, just talking to you for a few minutes can brighten my day. You always have that smile, and yeah, it is contagious.
You never get discouraged and are always optimistic and full of ideas. You also brought the Halloween's party to life today with your dance and comments.
Wow, it's just not enough to say how much I have learned from you.

For Reena, I think you also have that contiguous smile. You are very approachable, full of energy, dedicated and excited about this program. Your spirit somehow makes me want to do more and more for this program.
