Paul Penfold

Paul is interested in educational technology, curriculum design and online education. Born in England, he has lived in parts of Asia for about 10 years, and works for the School of Hotel & Tourism Management at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. His role is to support teachers in improving teaching and learning, as well as introducing technology for teaching purposes. Current development work includes: 'Virtel' - a virtual hotel, e-teaching for faculty, online student orientation with portfolio, blending a new HR hospitality course.

Paul is currently doing a Masters in Online Learning (as an online student) as well as teaching online and in the classroom. He enjoys being outdoors, on the water and out walking. His interests include photography, sailing, writing, good wine and Thai food. Paul lives on a houseboat in Aberdeen Harbour (Hong Kong) with his wife, daughter and cat. His wife owns a small hotel in Phuket, Thailand, so they regularly travel between Thailand and Hong Kong.
