Paolo Oprandi

I was brought up in the UK with my mother, I have two brothers and one half sister. One brother lives with his wife and two (soon to be three) children in Madrid, Spain; the other in our mother's home town (god bless him), entwined in a complicated love triangle with Stella (Artois) and (Golden) Virginia. My sister is currently a bar maid in London. My father is an Italian artisan who spent most of his life exploiting the spoils of Africa, my mother is an ex-VSO and English teacher.

I have been an HE student three times and have a BSc in chemistry, an MRes in management and information systems and an MA in digital media and am currently employed by the School of Life Sciences, Universtity of Sussex, as an Educational Technologist. I implemented opensource Moodle virtual learning enviroment (VLE) software at the start of last academic year (2004) and have since been involved in embedding it into our School and, since the University dropped WebCT VLE, embedding it into our institution. I organise postgraduate extra curricular skills training for University's science schools (SciPS) and am looking into eportfolio systems.

I have two wonderful children born in 2003 and 2005.
