This weekend, I gave a free online blog workshop at Knowplace, and I was very satisfied with the level of participation, interaction and creativity. As I'm living in GMT + 2, like two other participants, and hte rest were from American timezones (about ten in Canada, one in Texas and one in Argentina, I had to get to bed very late and up very early on day one, to make sure there were nobody left behind and that I could respond to their individual interests somehow. We're using Moodle, and this kind of online workshop is only open for these 48 hours, after which it isw the hope that participants would feel encouraged to participate in one of my coming week long workshops on blogging for specific purposes (such as teacher/student collaboration, career coaching, and e-portfolios).

I've blogged some of this workshop at worldofwebheads.blogspot.com (I'll cross my fingers that this retro-looking text only template understands a clean html tag??

Keywords: careerCoaching, ePortfolio

I've been blogging since 2002, as part of my endeavours to become an online professional e-learning community developer and consultant. I'm part of the Webheads in Action community of practice, where language teachers meet and work together on developing and scaffolding each other as peer learners of experimental online communication, student-teacher interaction, classroom experiments and conference presentations. Examples of my recent blogging (using other tools that are also relevant for many education and ePortfolio purposes) can be found at www.xanga.com/susnyrop and goinupstream.blogspot.com ( a collaborative blog with a EFL university class in Minsk, Belarus. I was their "Mystery guest", and we ended up with a virtual potluck party in my Elluminate office at Learning Times for a sync session where they surprised me with singing a traditional, and sad song in the Belarussian language!
