The end user blog is NOT meant to be talking about "bug requests, feature requests or technical issues. Those all have their own communities". I'm now going to track these request-oriented places as I'm not really aware where to look for such "sub-communities" inside elgg.
I'm starting to agree with people opposing to using the term community for what I would rather consider a discussion board or community helpdesk group. My end user experience tend to be mixedup with technicalities,as they're definitely colourng my activities and ability to use this fo a purpose, when it comes to the end.

You say that the end user blog is not meant to be discussing technical issues but this concerns me somewhat and I am hoping you can clarify one or two things for me. I have only just arrived in this environment and I am sure you know more than me about it.
I want a blog where I can think out loud, ask questions, or reflect on anything I want which may at times include the features and the experience of the software.
Anything we post on our blogs which isn’t marked as ‘private’ or ‘community access only’ ends up on the ‘view all posts’ page and there doesn’t seem (at the moment anyway ) to be a way of preventing this. Are you saying that we are restricted as to what we can post on our own blogs? Is there anything else we shouldn’t mention on our blogs? My students/colleages, who are very new to online working, are likely to post about their problems with the software and ask each other for help. If I were to tell them that they couldn’t discuss this sort of thing they would struggle and really worry about posting anything at all - I am afraid the system really wouldn’t be of much use to us.
sorry for not explaining myself well here. What I was referring to, speaking half way to myself,is that I found a section or special blog here inside elgg. created by one of the developers -and this So-called end user blog is not yet active. Apart from that I've posted a message there, sneaking around to see what wort of context I can find here.
I'm in mo way developing myself - but definitely another end user!
Please let your students continue doing just what I would recommend - peer help and scaffolding!
