This weekend, the IATEFL international organization for English language teachers held their yearly conference in Aberdeen, Scotland. And, for those not attending on location there were also sone online interaction going on, organized by a Moodle discussion space which I was just reading along as we say, with a more porlite expression for lurking. Not surprising, several synchronous sessions were taking place in Second Life on Edunation Island, initiated by Gavin Dudeney from energetic Consultants-e, and from the British CouncilBaldric Commons (whose real name I just forgot at the moment which is quite symptomatic for taking these alternative identities seriously). These guys are both located in Barcelona, Spainbut were on location and logging in from a pub. My alter ego, SusNy Foss, jumped in quite late and joined an after session chat. Baldric has blogged the chat log with a picture.
No time for more details; at least now the event has been blogged here as well.

Hi Sus,
I was one of the online attendees of IATEFl.
What a great experience. I am still learning my way in SL.
Hopefully I will be as proficient as you soon.
Right now we are facing major internet (speed) problems
at home and that's why I had to stop my SL exploration.
Hopefully it will be solved in a couple of days.
Nice to see you here. Can't wait for your conversation with Etienne! My Master’s dissertation was partly based on his CoP theory.
