Anger and demotivation can be very strong states. They can steal days from what otherwise could be creative development. My advice to myself and to others is to put dissappointments down to one side and walk on so that those angering, demotivating dissappointments are behind you as soon as possible. Look forward to doing well on the next challenge life throws at you. Burdened by negative thoughts will make life burdensome.

At the moment, I feel angry. I am thinking, "Why the **** should I continue with this ****ing ****?"

..............................................................................

There are people who are wise enough to help others.

There are other people who lack the self-confidence to do so.

The wise ones will go out their way to make things clear, so that others can develop. (A win win situation).

The scared ones will try to trick people, gaining a position of (false) superiority.

 ............................................................................

Now that I've got that off my chest, I feel a bit better.

I shall continue because I am one of the good.

Here comes a stream of consciousness:

Monday 2nd Feb 2009

Out with the good old pen and paper [I am rewriting this now into this blog from a notepad].

I've found myself going round and round in circles again.

I go into MyEd and stert to feel a bit lost and then WebCT and not really know what the difference is between them and, what's the other one called?... emmm... First Class.

I need some good analogies with the REAL world to help me understand what these things ARE!

I read the s0899555@education.ed.ac.uk emails (which have, unbeknownst to me, been sent by ...ME!) all with the subject of "onlinelanguagelearning was edited" and there, it is none too clear as to what the messages mean, with different sized fonts, colours, underlinings...

So, I find WebCT again, and Online Learning,  and go to "blog". And then... I'm not really too sure of what to do... ah, maybe LOG IN!

and I get an "error invalid username", so I try again, but this time get an "incorrect password" and I go back and forward - though it doesn't seem as if there's any "forward" and its all "backward"...

What I am learning is that it's all very, very cluttered and so very densely wooded that the forest is obscured.

Well, one thing I need to do is read more - for my courses and, ultimately, for my dissertation; and another thing I've got to do is get organised with my reading. Influenced by Sergi's first semester blog, I am going to paste the following URL to some interesting reading: oh, ohhhhhhh. Computer says "no."

I'm not allowed to copy/cut/paste.

Hmmmmm. I'll have to think about getting organised in a different way.

What I have ended up doing - I'm writing this about 30 mins later on - is copying the url and pasting it in the body of an email that I have sent to myself on gmail.

Fool proof. Complicated.

But there seems to be just SO MUCH INFORMATION out there. Where should I put these ideas I'm writing right now down? Here seems as good a place as any. But why not on the conference, why not on web CT OLL mail? Why not on the main blog? Why not on the wiki? Why not on my wiki?

Getting tidied up? Easier said than done!

I am in the process of discovering Second Life and I find myself laughing at the freakiness this world has entered. Which world? Good question!

I can remember there being three speeds on my record player! 78? What was 78rpm doing there? That was just down right confusing! And to think kids are growing up with things like Second Life.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, google Second Life and open your mind to a trillion possibilities.
