Has the ability to post by email been removed? I've used it in the past, but not for ages & was trying to test it - and had forgotten what random address I'd set up. I can't find where I entered the details, though, now.

Eduspaces seems to have a flaw.  You can only add to it.  How can I delete a community that I created?

Hello.

I'm currently the administrator of an e-learning community available at http://eduspaces.net/cnocml08g1

Once logged in and when I click over the community link, I keep getting the same error and so do the other community users:

"Error: Turn off debugging to hide this error.

SELECT f.owner FROM friends f JOIN users u ON u.ident = f.friend WHERE u.user_type = ? AND u.ident = ? AND f.owner = ?

Found more than one record in get_record_sql !

Array
(
[20452] => Array
(
[owner] => 20452
)

)

We would like to use this community as means of suceeding to achieve oficial school certification for our students. As you can see it would be of vital importante to solve this issue, could you assist us?

Thanks in advance,

Helder Touças

Since about Friday no one can see my blog, including myself when logged in.

http://eduspaces.net/stevelee/weblog

In Firefox we get a strange 'redirect loop' error and IE just hangs.

My profile is OK http://eduspaces.net/stevelee but messages also so dead so I'm wondering if a rogue message has caused it though I have not got a notification email.

Can this be fixed for me? Or at least can I get a dump of  my blog as I can't get to that either.

I've got an installation of Elgg 0.9 (I think!); for two reasons:

1: I can't install 1.0 - no idea why, but I've tried assorted things.

2: I like the fact that 0.9 lets you import external blog postsing.

However, I've just been trying to change a password & have run into an interesting issue. The "News" account can have symbols (e.g. %) in the password, but when I tried to change a normal one to include them I have just seen in the pink box at the top when you've changed the account settings a note to the effect that you have to have just letters & numbers. (I'd not seen it before, but it would explain why I couldn't understand what was going on ... I'd change the password, re-log in & notthing!)

I've had a look through the admin settings, but can't see any thing to restrict what can (or alternatively what has to be) in a password.

(Just as a matter of interest, how does it cope if you use the Elgg/WebCT etc., integration & people have used other characters in their password)

We would like to get some idea of what users of this community would like to see happen to EduSpaces? If you are using the service, please let us know. Thanks.

Eight weeks have passed since I first started here in Eduspace, I have to admit the monotony can be tiring but I have learned that if you put passion to what you do or write, the outcome is more than what is is required, it is usually greater. I am not saying this to myself but to my fellow classmates who already feel utterly bored with "blogging".

 Back to the task for week 8, The whole class is supposed to take up the CQ test that what linked by Sir Yuvienco, I was able to download the pdf file of the worksheet but the thing is it doesnt give out results. I tried it for several times but it just did not work accordingly. No offense but I don't think the test is reliable either because the person answering can be relatively bias.

 For my Edu20 RSS, I was able to gather several RSS that are related to my topics: SOIL SCIENCE AND THE EARTH's INTERIOR/ATMOSPHERE. The things we can do with the internet nowadays are magnificent, information and knowledge is shared to everyone by anyone. Ofcourse we need to be responsible and observe proper internet etiquette by citing the sources of information, refraining from uploading offensive article & etc.  Edu20 is a "wiki" site where students like myself can become a teacher by providing and gathering lessons that would be beneficial to internet users especially in terms of education.  By the help of Googlereader, subscribing for  related rss articles were so easy. Here are some of my good finds;

    When somebody tell you he/she cares about you, would you believe it?  When Bush claimed he cared for the Iranians, did it show? When our own President said she cares for the Filipinos, did you feel it? Like any other word, "to care" requires not just the ability to spit it out from our mouth but also the initiative to show it. Caring is when you become selfless for the sake of someone else, for the price of something else.
    Approxitemately a year ago, I made my own state of the nation address, pretending as if I was in the tiny shoes of our President, discussing over my plan of actions for the improvement of our country. After seeing that "SONA" blog again, I felt so powerless.  I realized that saying that you "care" won't always be enough until you start doing something about it. As I see my country falling behind, drowning from untraceable foreign debts, I feel partly responsible for it. Why? because I wasnt able to vote last elections. I cared about who was going to be elected as our goverment officials but I did not do anything about it. That's why caring isn't just enough because if you really do, actions will be seen in when the "C" word is said.

What do you believe in? What are you fighting for? What do you dreamed of? When I was doing the task for Week six I kept my asking that to myself. I am a type of person who marvels to the possibilities of all possibilties. (That's probably the reason why I am so into Nike apparels because their famous tag line "IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING" really inspires me). Since I entered college life has been too routined for me. I was living inside a border of expectations and limitations, afraid to cross the line of what I think would imperil my studies. For my mother, I was the good and responsible daughter, but inside I was the lonely and unhappy girl. I would engross myself into reading a lot of self-help books because I fee empty. I was looking for answer to questions I can't really point out. I used to be a go-getter but the fear of committing mistakes made me a shameful coward lioness.Embarassed

Then one day, after finished reading this particular book I borrowed from the library, as cheesy as this may sound, I saw a flickering light of hope. That is when things became clearer to me, I WOULD KNOW WHAT I WANT AND I WOULD DEFINITELY GET IT. This mantra inspired me alot so I also started reading stories of women who made IT big in their chosen fields of industry.  My personal philosopy of positive thinking and believing also gave me the idea for what my "voice" blog would be about- IT GIRLS. It girls as I defined it my blog are successful women who are respected and recognized by the public for their great achievements despite struggles they have faced and tackled. The emancipation of women throught the years is the greatest milestone for the female society. Their stories are every woman's proof the gender is not an obstacle in reaching their dreams.  Entitle "The Chronicles of an IT girl", my voice blog contains background tales of who I think are real IT girls (not the party girl who flaunts her expensive wardrobe but actually possess nothing but superficial characteristics). Dating from the time the term "It girl" was created onwards, these IT girls have continued inspring lives of women and that includes mine. Smile
