http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/StartupsInIndia/~3/475869525/story.p
On the occasion of its tenth anniversary, it is clear that Google is the Web's star performer in recent years. Better still, the Google model is deemed to be better equipped to withstand the crisis, one could even speak of "martingale Mountain View."

However, the strategy of Google can sometimes seem incoherent as it unfolds in different sectors:

* Strong positions in the mobile industry
* Investment in network infrastructure Internet
* Adaptation of Web advertising models on television or radio

are all initiatives that it is sometimes difficult to understand the logic.

faberNovel sought to understand the reasons for the industrial and commercial success of Google and identified 6 key success factors justifying the rise of Google:

* Scalability
* Effects of networks
* Tracking data
* Opening
* Co-creation
* Business model

The study examines how these factors are implemented in the strategy of search engine and demonstrates that those mechanisms born in the digital universe can be exploited by the players of the digital world even more widely in any industry products.

This study aimed at anyone interested in Google, and especially businesses that want to better understand and control the logical Web and mobile.

FoodieBay.com is a very unique and a promising startup which currently has a database of over 1200(and counting) restaurants and food joints from all over the Delhi and NCR region. The concept is similar to SeamlessWeb.com which offers similar services in US. The website has been neatly compiled and categorized according to the localities.

The brains behind FoodieBay.com consists of a group of four IIT-D lads namely Deepinder Goyal: IIT Delhi alum, batch of 2005; Pankaj Chaddah: IIT Delhi alum, batch of 2007; Anshuman Fotedar: 3rd yr student, IIT Delhi; Piyush Taneja: 2nd yr student, IIT Delhi.

With their sheer hard work and constant help from other IIT alums, this site is going bigger and bigger day by day.

Where the FoodieBay has scored all the stars in their glory:

I am really impressed with the content of the site. From actual scanned menu card to directional maps, from reviews to detail ratings, one can find everything here.

The site also offers discounts on few selected outlets and for it you don't even have to become their member. The reviews are nicely written and provide a quick overview about the restaurant. To order
These demos are mostly done over the phone for 10 minutes using the phone and web conferencing software like WebEx or Adobe's wonderful new "Connect" service.

After doing 2,500 minutes of demos (40 hours) this year and many more last year for the conference, I've learned a lot about what makes for a great demo and what makes for a horrible demo. Since demoing your idea is a key to your success as an entrepreneur, I thought I would share everything I know in a few simple bullet points.

These tips are applicable to presenting in front of an investor, a partner as well as a demo style conference. Of course, every situation is different so consider these loose guidelines.

Background: The TechCrunch50 conference is taking places on September 8-10th in San Francisco and you can find more information here: www.techcrunch50.com. Mike Arrington of TechCrunch.com and I started the event last year as a place where fifty startup companies could launch their products without having to pay a fee (i.e. the incumbent conference called DEMO charges $18,500 to launch a startup company--that's really low/absusive in my book). Google, Microsoft,
Yahoo, Sequoia Capital and a bunch of other fine partners have joined us in hosting the event.

1. Show your product within the first 60 seconds
Most folks start their presentations with information like the size of the market they are tackling (tens of billions, we only need 1%!), their inflated co

http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/StartupsInIndia/~3/314980183/story.p
At a macro level, ZoomIn.com is yet another site that provides storage for your photos and facilitates photo sharing and printing both online and offline. So, what is it that sets apart this start-up which made us take time off of our crazy schedules and write about them here on Startups.in/India especially after our very long hiatus?

Well to find out, let's
++ ZOOM IN ++
The first thing that impressed us about ZoomIn.com is its attractive UI (User Interface) and the slick "About Us" page. ;) But seriously, we do think they really have a done a good job at the UI. For a fact, Internet based start-ups have a come a long way in this aspect and its quite heartening to note the positive change. We score them 100/100 on this front.

Secondly, it is the market that they are going after and their well planned execution on top of it which seemed impressive. Home delivery of photos is nearly a $7 billion industry in US alone and looking at the ever growing NRI segment, India will catch up with US in terms of the market cap in less than 10 years.
