Recently I was introduced to the world of Folksonomy. If you are wondering just what that is? well let me tell you:
Folksonomy quite simply put is social tagging, social indexing and collborative tagging using key words. It is internet based and two well know examples using social tagging is Flickr and de.icio.us. There are many more to chose from though. Blogs also make great use of tags.
It is great way to find information, gather resources and collating information very quickly making it a great tool to use in education whether you are researching, searching or sourcing infomation, now it is as quick as clicking a tag rather than searching pages of information search engines and directories.
With de.icio.us my bookmarks are now efficency bookmarked and indexed with more information and access to other related information than just a regular bookmarked page.
