I have treated social networks as a bit of an experiment, trying them out, discarding some and sticking with others but they are becoming a part of my life. I use Facebook for light-hearted connections with friends, colleagues and students but try to remember that professional contacts might look in. My ‘oldest’ blog is at Eduspaces where I can meet with those with similar interests in education and technology.I also network for projects at Emerge and at KnowandNetwork and have tried to link these blogs to my main blog (see diagram at Flickr.com) . I also meet up with people at Flickr and del.icio.us. The only thing that makes this bearable is RSS (here are some links if you don’t know what that is ), and my favourite is this video, RSS in plain English . The best thing about RSS is that it makes keeping up with blogs and networks manageable.
I am building a professional network at Linkedin, and the other day, I came across the cunningly-named DamselsinSuccess.
So what about the rest of you – do you / don’t you network online?
