Who am I?

Welcome!

This is the blog for Fiona Littleton a full time PhD student at the School of Education, University of Edinburgh, Scotland. An informal area for my ideas, my thoughts, my research.

My research is in the areas of video games and education. Research does not centre around implementing video games into education or understanding learning within video games (although these areas of research are of course taken into account). I am interested in investigating students who grew up playing video games, who are part of the video game culture, and who are studying in a higher education environment. Discovering how these student gamers are different (or not) from other student non gamers.

I began my research in November 2003 and am due to complete it in November 2006. My supervisors are Prof Jeff Haywood and Dr Hamish Macleod.

I see this website and my related blog as a place to share ideas with the larger world! I welcome comments, I welcome email contact, and I hope that this becomes a space for research sharing and research thoughts for more than just myself! I look forward to "speaking" with you all.
