Emma Duke-Williams :: Blog :: Flock - and Elgg

September 25, 2006

I have just been testing the ability of Flock to post to an Elgg blog - and it works!

I’m hoping to get the MSc eLearning Students to use Elgg, rather than Blogger this academic year, and I was slightly worried that would mean that they wouldn’t be able to use Flock to integrate directly with it. It seems that you can!

  1. Hi Emma,

    could you please explain to me why do you think it is so important to be able to use Flock. Note that I haven't tried Flock yet. I also have some wordpress blogs.

    Thank you very much!

  2. I've been reading several people's comments about FLock - it's a customised version of Firefox - and has quite a few blogging things built in. Granted some of them are the sort of thing that you can create in other browsers - e.g. adding a "Blog this" link in the favourites.

    I just liked the way that they are all linked together - blogging, photo uploading, note taking etc.

    One of the posts that really got me thinking about Flock was Classroom Blogging: The Tools and I've seen other discussions which meant that I thought that it was a browser worth alerting my students to.
