How motivating would it be for your students to know that the whole world is looking at your work!

teaching german grammar
dear all... i hope you are doing well both in your study in your social life.. after my visit to Drummond high community school i thought that it would be a fruitful idea to share my thoughts with you.. i knew that Drummond school has the reputation in edinburgh to be the best school in teaching english language, yet i m going to talk to you about a class of teaching german which i attended last week. the teacher was teaching grammar particularly the present perfect tense in german. actually i expected more communication in teaching grammar in this class especially when the students are teenagers. the teacher used the old grammar translation method most of the time. most of the lesson was in english not in german and she was translating every german word in english. the students were able to understand the rule although they were not fully engaged or exicted. so, despite being an old method in teaching, gramar translation is still used and can help to deliver the messgae. bearing in mind that there was not much interaction, i felt a little bit sleepy and bored. but i liked the idea of using grammar dictioneries. after i have talked to one of my tutors, i learned that, unfortunately,no much care is given to foreign languages here and this attitude explains a lot of what i have seen. i m going to attend an english class tomorrow and certainly i m going to tell you about the difference which i expect to find.
see you...bye
