I agree with Christina. I found the same statistics on Finland, but they were difficult to find for Finland. I thought it was excellent that Finland had one of the lowest poverty rates for children in the world. The U.S. has one of the highest rates of poverty for children in the world.
I think that these statistics on child poverty for Finland and the U.S. were good to know because they tell me that the U.S. should definitely follow Finland's footsteps in the organization of poverty. I think it is riduculous that our country has one of the highest poverty rates for children in the world and so many people move to this country from other countries because they think it will be a different and better life for them, but it could end of being worse because they could end up living in poverty.
I thought this information was interested and helpful. It showed me that the world needs to spend less on the military and more on trying to fix the poverty rates, especially in the U.S.

I think that finding out that Finnland has one of the lowest child poverty rates was great, but at the same time I felt a little ahamed of our country for have one of the highest rate of child poverty. I know I that a lot of poverty stricken children come from single parent homes and tht the parent does not make enough money to support them. But we are one of hte wealthiest countries in the world and we should be trying to figure out what these other countries are doing right in helpiong their people and maybe we shoud try some of their ways. Because our ways are not going so good. It is very hard to find anything on Finnlands poverty and hunger rate and that is probably because it is so low. We stand out because our rates are so high. Again we really need to work together to fix what we can and that is to feed our children and try to get them out of poverty.

The actions I would take for poverty and hunger include the following:
1: I would write to elected representatives about the problem and explain how important this problem is and how important their help to this problem really is. I would continue to pressure them until we recieve helm in this matter.
2: I would investigate the problem and it solution through what ever sources I can find. This problem affects myself and my family.
3: And yes I would take part in a demonstration if the lives of my children or spouse depended on it. I would do almost anything I needed to, toget them out of this situation, but their are also others who need the same amount of help. We are all equal and deserve the same amount of help getting rid of this problem. So working on getting this problem fixed would be for everyone not only family.
