Brief description

This blog is for my Ed.D. through the University of Durham. I'm focusing on on the nature of 'digital literacy' - i.e. what it means to be an 'educated' person in the 21st century.

Who am I?

I'm a History (and sometimes ICT) teacher working in Doncaster, UK. After an undergraduate degree in Philosophy at the University of Sheffield and an MA in Modern History at the University of Durham, I'm now studying towards a Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) at Durham as well.

In my Ed.D. thesis I aim to look at the changing nature of knowledge and how educational institutions are reacting to this. Thus it will be part philosophical, part methodological, part paper-trail and part analysis of practice.

My interests are in educational technology, mainly, and I keep up a teaching blog at http://teaching.mrbelshaw.co.uk and a personal blog at http://www.dougbelshaw.com. :-)
