The School of Teaching and Learning in the College of Education at the University of Florida (Gainesville, FL), a comprehensive land-grant research university and member of the Association of American Universities, invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor in Educational Technology to begin August 2010. This is a nine-month tenure-track position with a strong possibility of supplementary summer employment. The Educational Technology program facilitates studies and disseminates the ways in which innovative technologies and emerging physical, virtual and blended learning environments empower educators and learners and impact society.

Responsibilities
•    Scholarly activities commensurate with expectations of a tenure-track faculty member at a research intensive university
•    Active participation in the Educational Technology program team and the larger STEM faculty
•    Pursuit of external funding in collaboration with colleagues within and outside of the College of Education
•    Recruiting, advising and mentoring graduate students
•    Involvement in program/course development and refinement
•    Online and on-campus teaching
•    Supervision of instructors
•    Service to program, department, college, university, profession

Required Qualifications
•    Completed doctorate in Educational Technology or closely related field
•    Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and competence as a collaborator
•    Established and recent record of scholarly productivity commensurate with rank
•    Record of writing, securing and successfully managing grants
•    Strong knowledge of research methods
•    Understanding of and respect for the professional practice doctoral mission
•    Record of teaching excellence
•    Experience teaching in online environments
•    Use ability to contribute to quality and national reputation of program

Desired Qualifications
•    Faculty experience in an Educational Technology or related program
•    Record of mentoring graduate students
•    Record of mentoring PhD students to degree completion
•    Experience working with diverse student populations
•    Active leadership in professional organizations
