Boehoehoehoe, i'm sad, because I have to arrange my trip back before it's too late.
Me and Minke were thinking of taking the train to get back to Holland, Arnhem. But... I can't find the site where i can look for times and (more important) prices. I tried looking on the Renfe site but it's a little bit unclear and the dutch site wasn't helpful either.
So, who has the golden tip for me???
Thanks!

I can't believe it! I really can't believe it! I would've never imagined being stressed out because of school over here! In Holland, ok. But here??? I just got really (!) lazy doing nothing usefull the last couple of months, so now my brain has to start functioning again and it is having some startingproblems...(i guess)
Ok. Focus sanne, the assignment.
The first one I made notes about was the one from the American girls. It attracted my attention because their subject was: Chocolate!! Being a girl and loving sweets it's obvious ofcourse.
It's nice that they were talking about a funny subject in that context. Linking it with a nice little shop that sells good chocolate, is an original idea. The pictures in their presentation made it interesting and nice to look at. Funny that they explained us the 'difficult' process of making a cup of hot chocolate.
Second one that caught my attention was the one about witches from the English girls. I walked in on that one while it already started(bathroom)so at first I wasn't really seeing the link with catalan culture. It attracted me because the monday before whe had been celebrating Halloween and it was a really cool experience.(i think you remember the pictures in Teresa's presentation...)It was an original subject and they showed us a few 'interesting' facts, especially the part where they explained how to become a witch..(finding a beachwhore and undress yourself fully??) Simple structure but because of the subject it stays with you.
The third and last one(s) are about Dali. First one presentation with general information about Dali and his life and after that, one with funny facts. Nice combination. Although it's a really familiar subject (it's probably covered every year) thanks to the combination of those two presentations it was fully covered and made it hang on longer.
It was a funny class, and i enjoyed writing on the Elggblog, i will defenetly(i'm writing it the wrong way, I know)write some more!

Barcelona. Who wouldn't wanna be there for four months???? I'm frikkin loving it here. One fiesta after the other, meeting lots of weird people on the streets and feeling every feeling possible twice a day because everything keeps surprising me. Exhausting? Yes.
Yesterday we went to the Black sheep (again, yes) and after that to the london bar. Chatting and chatting and chatting. I love getting to know people, but after almost ten weeks without my friends back home i'm really starting to miss the little jokes and bullsh##ting around. It just came to me yesterdaynight,'that's why i'm thinking about them so much!' It's just those little things when you're hanging around with the people you've known for years. Seeing or hearing a little thing, a person or a word, that makes you go like ' ooohh yeah do you know last year when we were in the thing doing the thing with him and her and everybody???' Or giving really fast comments on people passing, making fun or just analyzing everything.. Do you know what I mean? I'm missing the hanging around, doing the usual stuff with my buddies.
It takes more than four months for me to do those kind of things with people I just met.
Got a letter from my dad with a lot of pictures included, remembering the week they came and visited me. It was really nice seeing them, but a week (24 HRS A DAY!!)is enough, if you know what I mean?? ;) But it's nice to get mail here, emails are just so easy. If you get a letter you know people are making some effort for you.(aaah nice)
That's about it for today, next time some more food for the brain!

That's kind of strange.... I can't even watch my own blog anymore in the CDT... Censorship???? I don't know, isn't it a little bit harsh to ban everybody who says 'beer' (ooohh) and 'wankers' (ooohhhh) from the site??

I interviewed only two people, i hope that's ok too?
The first person is Sonia, 29 years, born in barcelona, moved to Madrid. (yes, that really happens!)
Only by reading this little piece of information you can imagine how the rest of the interview must have been like. ;)
She feels more spanish than catalan, but eitherway she can't stand it if people talk negative about catalunya and its inhabitants.
Sonia only speaks catalan with her family and friends when she visits them, in madrid ofcourse as little as possible.
Catalunya getting independent? It will make the relations between the different 'parties' in Spain only more tense, but it will make the people living in Catalunya happier. So she doesn't know... (nobody knows, nobody dears to give an radical answer to a stranger/foreigner)
The second one was with Raoul (our landlord), 33 years old, born, raised and still living in Barcelona. Raoul didn't know if he felt more catalan or more spanish. He feels like a citizen of the world (how miss world of him to say that, isn't it? haha)
He speaks both catalan and spanish with is family, with his girlfriend only spanish.(she's from the south)When there's someone in a group that only understands spanish, he will only speak spanish.
He doesn't see any advantages of Catalunya getting independent. It will make things easier for the people living there, but it will make everything more bureaucratic & complicated conserning relations with the rest of spain and in the world.

I hope this is enough information to make it three?

Barcelona really has two sides. We´ve al met the beautiful, touristic and wealthy one. But on the other side there´s poverty, sickness and chaos.
We live in El Raval, the red light district near La Rambla, and I´ve seen a lot! Hookers, crippled people and a lot of undestined creepy looking figures who make you feel really safe when you go out on your own late at night. Ofcourse, i´ve not been living under a rock back in Holland and i´ve seen it over there too, but here i´m confronted every day and together with the narrow streets, the smells and the nasty looking buildings it creates a somber atmosphere. It makes you think...
And i´m not posting this to tap everybody on the fingers and say " why aren´t you feeling depressed because all of this??" No, just wondering... Maybe make it a little less black white or whatever.
And maybe i´m just thinking bad thoughts because i´m feeling really sorry for myself, because i´m having a bad cold. Just like 300.000 other people in Barcelona right now...
Well, don´t let the weather get you down, because after rain..? There will be sunshine!!

First, I have to say this: i'm sorry, but barcelona people are a bunch of wankers!!!
Goddamn I got robbed yesterday while sitting on a terrace....
this message will be continued!

Ok, i´m relaxed again, blocked my atm card and i´m taking care of a new phone...
It´s no use walking around with a face like thunder for a week. That´s a waste of time, i only have three months here and i still have to discover soooo much!
Yesterday i played tourist and went to see the Gaudí houses. Especially the roof of the Casa Mila was fairytale like. We sat there for like an hour en just enjoyed the view and the sculptures.
Sunday i played the tourist (yes, again) and walked up the Tibidabo mountain with Lianne. The top was a really big deception but inside the church there were some people praying and that made it more real. It was surreal outside. A gigantic church and next to that there was a shitty amusementpark. We went down and drank a nice cold beer with a view over barcelona, great! In the middle of nature, no cars, no other people and above all... no smells!!
We´re gonna go to a small village next weekend, or walk near the Montserrat, so next time a little story about that.
