Which presentations I liked:
'DALÍ'
by Laura & Moniek
A week before the presentations we visited the Dalí museum in Figueras, which I already really was looking forward to, as I really love his works. And it really was a great day, I was totally impressed and enthousiastic to see his paintings for real!
Thats why I liked the presentation of Laura and Moniek very much. They explained some of his paintings, and for me it was really intresting to hear the ideas and thoughts behind the paintings of Dalí.
I think the two girls explained the paintings very well.
'CAVA'
by Aurora, Anna & Richard
Although I'm not all into the cava, I really found their presentation intresting. They had a lot of intresting background information, nice pictures and well organised presentation.
I liked their presentation a bit more than the other presentation about Cava (just before their turn), as the others mainly described only the process of the making of Cava.
This presentation about Cava was a bit more detailed, which I found more intresting. Now I know more about Cava.

DO YOU FEEL MORE SPANISH OR CATALAN?
I feel more Spanish than Catalan. Because my grandparents are from Spain, not Catalunya. Although I speak Catalan with my friends, I still feel more Spanish.
DO YOU SPEAK MORE SPANISH OR CATALAN?
My mother was raised outside of Catalunya. Therefor she speaks spanish. My father was born near Barcelona, he speaks only Catalan when he is angry! At home, and with my parents I speak Spanish. With my friends, I speak Catalan.
WOULD YOU LIKE CATALUNYA BEING INDEPENDENT?
It doesn't bother me a lot weater Catalunya is independent or not. I have a few friends who really like Catalunya to be independent, but I don´t really care that much.

To be continued, as I said... Well, that has been a long time ago now, since my last post. A lot of stuff happened during that time, and my mind about Barcelona did change a lot!

At first I really think I had to get used to live in a big city like this. After a while, I got more used to the crowdness and noise of the city, I found more and more nice spots to go, and now, surprisingly, I really like Barcelona a lot! Actually I really appreciate the livingness, the atmosphere over here. I can sit down just somewhere in the city, and enjoying watching all these people doing their things. I even think I will really miss the 24-hour crowded-life here in Barcelona, compared to my small city back in Holland.

I had a lot of different friend who came over last 8 weeks. And they all had the same feelings as I in the beginning. Too noisy, too crowded, too smelly... I recornise that. But it changed for me.

I still love the beach. Its a very nice spot to just find your rest from the city. Its great that a nice city also can offer a beach! If you have some friends over, and like to have a drink, I recommend 'SOHO'. They have some lovely cauches to chill out. Once you're laying down there, you can't get up anymore!

We discovered a lot of nice bars, restaurants and clubs. And we still discover new ones. Barcelona defenatly has a great and big offer of the nightlife. I can't compare it with anything or any city I have been before. Their is a great variaty, anyone can find his favourite over here. There really is so much to exploir, that i'm very nervous inside; only 8 weeks left, and I didn't seen it all!! Than I'm not even mentioning all the festivals and concerts going on every week. Really, it almost is too much! But it is GREAT.

Than,- sorry roommates, but I have to mention it agáin! - the discovery of my stay here! : Cause of all of my friends visiting me, i´v been to the Sagrada Familia 7 times. I liked it, but not too much. An intresting building, but I could't say if I really liked it or not. But this week, for the first time, I went inside the museum. OH MY GOD!! There were all these drawings and designs about how the Sagrada Familia will look like in the end (when it is finished) Really! I´m completely stunished and TOTALY impressed!! I look at Sagrada now with completely different eyes, and I can't stop talking about this huge masterwork!
Did you know, the Sagrada we see now, isn't even HALF of what it has to look like in the end??? GO TO THE MUSEUM, AND FIND OUT!!

Ok... hahaha...
Well, and than Dalí, although it isn't Barcelona. I just lóve his work, and it was great to finally see it 'live'. I'm totally inspired by it. I really recommend people to go, it is worth the two hour drive. I'm thinking about going again, as our scooltrip was too short for me!

Robstories..?? Well, not a cool one. They just picked my wallet during showering in a shared shower in a hostal. What was I doing there?? Well, as our landlord didn't paid his bill to the watercompany, we didn't had water for two days. I was so pissed that I took my stuff and entered this hostal without questioning the reception, and took a shower. It was nice, untill I found out they took my wallet.... God punnished immediatly.. :-)

Oh yes, the Kathedral in the Barrí Gothic. It is a must too! It is a beautifull church with a lovely garden. I never saw something like that before. And the great thing is, you can go up on the roof of the church! You'll have a lovely view over the city.

Than: a recommend for having a diner:
'los toreadors' (next to el gato negro) its in el Raval (I will write adress later).
The interiour is nice, a bit oldfashion. But the food is great. You can choose out of more than 50 different tapas, and you will get a lot! (normally i'm still hungry after some tapas)
The best thing is the price (ofcourse, I'm dutch :-)).
We had a menu for 16.45 ; includes >
1/2 liter p.p. (wine, sangria, beer or refreshment)
3 tapas of your choise (starter) + fresh bread
maindish (choose out 7 dishes, and choose extra out of patatas,
rice or salad)
icecream (or something else, choose out of 20 deserts)
and a coffee
and a liquer from the house.
YOU ARE TOTALLY FULL, I PROMISE YOU. And the service is very good too. And its also nice for bigger groups, as they have some nice small ´sales´ (rooms)

Hmm... does anyone else has also some nice tips?

Oh, and for I end for now. Another thing with is really great here in the city, are all the musicians at the streets and metros. I really like them. In Holland you're not allowed play music without permission. And people don't do it for that reason. People here do it anyway. I like it.

Alrighty, thats it for now.
