The punch card is an obsolescent recording medium for digital information for use by automated data processing machines, including early mainframe-based computers which used them as the primary medium for input of both computer programs and data.
These are beautiful examples of early code writing. Data is held by the card as pattens of punched codes. Below are some I like a lot (cards and code tables) Click on the images for more info on specialized websites.
