A small article that I wrote was published this spring in the University of Tennessee research magazine, Quest. The article briefly described the program STARS that assesses childcare across the state of Tennessee.
This article was presented without a byline, but I am listed as a contributing writer.

This Spring I had the opportunity to write an article for the University of Tennessee's Chancellor's Report featuring the Tennessee Partnership for Ongoing Parental Support (TPOPS) program operating as part of the College of Social Work Office of Research and Public Service. The article is entitled Fathers behind Bars.
TPOPS is a partnership between the Tennessee Department of Human Services, the Tennessee Department of Corrections, and the college’s Social Work Office of Research and Public Service.
I wrote the fourth chapter in the book The E-Portfolio Paradigm: Informing, Educating, Assessing, and Managing With E-Portfolios, that became publicly available in March of 2010. The book is available for the purchase price of $39.99 at Informing Science Press. However, this is an open education resource and can be read in its entirety at this URL: http://books.google.com/books?id=6MYVu4TbLcMC&printsec=frontcover#v=onepage&q&f=false Chapter 4 is entitled: Organizational E-Portfolios. It is found in the second section of the book: Business, Professional, & Organizational Uses of E-Portfolios, and begins on page 63.

In my role as Assistant Director for Publications and Media Technology at the UT College of Social Work Office of Research and Public Service, I created a template that would serve researchers who are writing papers using APA 6.0 style guidelines.

I serve as an at-large member of the national Board of Directors for the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions (AGRM). This organization is North America's oldest and largest network of independent crisis shelters and rehabilitation centers, offering radical hospitality in the name of Jesus.

Writing in Style - APA Style Manual 6th Edition Training This training gives an overview of the changes in the APA Publication Manual 6th Edition in comparison with the 5th Edition. It notes changes chapter by chapter and reviews the mechanics of style. The training focuses on references and citations giving instruction and examples for most main kinds of resources, but giving particular attention to electronic sources, including the newest of sources such as tweets and wikis. This training was primarily authored by Kirche Rogers, who works on the Publications unit staff at SWORPS. I assisted with design concepts and the feedback element of the production. I have also assisted with marketing and promotion.

Generally speaking, newsletters can be (yawn) less than exciting. However, Stimulus, the newsletter for the University of Tennessee College of Social Work is a beautiful example of how such a publication can be both informative and quite lovely to read. This issue investigates the theme, Promoting Justice in Diverse Populations. I have written several of the articles in this publication, one featuring Theora Evans, a long time academician with the college and the newly named social worker of the year for the American Public Health Association, and another featuring Courtney Cronley, recipient of a HUD grant to study an organizational cultural approach to understanding technology diffusion among homeless service providers. One of the most interesting aspects of the Stimulus newsletter is it's online media enhancements page. For this issue, Cronley is featured in several videos, giving additional information about the HUD grant and homeless provider study. The concept of media enhancements for this newsletter is one that I developed several years ago. Since that time it has allowed for communicating a wider variety of ideas in many media formats.
