The latest episode of Absolutely Intercultural is completely devoted to a rather special project which involves taking a mixed group of university students to a remote corner of western Ireland to give them an intercultural experience. Although I couldn't make it this time round I have been twice already. The first time I went it seemed difficult for people to explain to me what it was exactly and so I didn't really know what I was letting myself in for. But having been through the experience I can appreciate what a special event this is. Mainly for all the positives but also as Stephen Manning mentions in this show in another context, for those occasions when the experience forces you to step out of your comfort zone. Perhaps if I had heard a podcast like this before I went the first time I might have had a better idea of what I was letting myself in for! It was absolutely none the worst for that though.
